Insomniac has clarified that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will not include a co-op mode. Rumors around cooperative gameplay appeared because the sequel features both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, and many players imagined switching or teaming up with another person in the same city.
The studio's position is simpler: the game is built as a single-player adventure. That lets the developers control pacing, story scenes and hero switching without balancing every encounter for two human players. For fans who wanted online co-op this may be disappointing, but it also means the sequel can stay focused on cinematic missions and polished character moments.
