The gameplay begins with the trump caller, who views their first five cards and declares the trump suit, known as the rang or hukum. From there, the game follows standard Court Piece rules: players must follow the led suit if possible, or play any card otherwise.
The highest card of the led suit or the highest trump takes the trick. To win the game, a side must secure seven of the thirteen tricks. Strategic depth increases with special bonuses like the Coat, achieved by sweeping all thirteen tricks as the trump-calling side, or the rare Dunk Coat when sweeping against the trump side.
